Why Thalamus Exists
We kept seeing the same pattern: talented engineering teams spending months building retrieval infrastructure, only to end up with fragile pipelines that broke on real-world data.
The problem wasn't ability. The problem was that retrieval is a deeply specialized engineering discipline - one that requires constant iteration on ingestion, chunking, ranking, and grounding.
